Jesse Watters Once Claimed He Let the Air Out of His Wife’s Tires to Get a Date—Here’s What Really Happened with Emma

Fox News host Jesse Watters is no stranger to making headlines, but one of his most eyebrow-raising stories isn’t about politics—it’s about how he landed a date with his now-wife, Emma DiGiovine.

In a surprising and controversial revelation, Jesse once joked on air that he deliberately let the air out of Emma’s car tires to force an interaction. “When I was trying to get [my wife Emma] to go out with me, the first thing I did—well—I let the air out of her tires,” Jesse said during a segment. “She couldn’t go anywhere. She needed a ride. So I said, ‘Hey, do you need a lift?’ She jumped right in.”

The comment, delivered with a smile, sparked a firestorm online, with many viewers calling it inappropriate and even predatory, especially given the couple’s age gap and workplace dynamic.

A “Joke” That Backfired

Watters later addressed the controversy, walking back his comments on a subsequent episode of The Five. “It was a joke,” he clarified. “I’ve never let the air out of anyone’s tires.”

Still, by the time the damage control aired, the internet was already buzzing. One post on X (formerly Twitter) read:
“Jesse Watters jokes about deflating the tires of a woman 14 years younger who worked for him. He was married at the time. This isn’t romantic—it’s creepy.”

Another added:
“Wait… he was married when he did this? And she was an employee? That’s straight-up predator vibes.”

The backlash was swift and sharp, with many users pointing to the power imbalance and timing of their relationship.

The Real Story of Jesse and Emma

Controversy aside, Jesse and Emma have built a life together that now includes marriage and a daughter.

Their relationship first came to public attention in 2017, when news broke that Jesse—then still married to his first wife, Noelle Inguagiato—was romantically involved with Emma, who had been hired as an associate producer on Watters’ World. According to The Daily Mail, Jesse informed Fox News of the relationship roughly a month after Noelle filed for divorce.

Despite the circumstances, Jesse and Emma remained together. They tied the knot in December 2019 in an intimate ceremony in Naples, Florida. Emma left her role at Fox News following the wedding.

She later shared glimpses of their big day on Instagram, writing:
“Married the love of my life one year ago today. It’s been the most beautiful year. I love you forever @jessewatters. Can’t wait for our next chapter.”

That next chapter came in the form of parenthood. In April 2023, the couple welcomed their daughter, Georgina Post Watters.

Public Scrutiny and Private Life

Emma has largely stayed out of the spotlight since their marriage, while Jesse continues to be a prominent figure on Fox. Still, their relationship remains a topic of curiosity and controversy for some viewers, particularly given how it began.

While Jesse’s tire-deflating tale might have been a joke, the story tapped into a deeper cultural sensitivity about relationships that begin in the workplace—especially when there’s a significant age difference and a power dynamic involved.

Whether you see Jesse’s comments as light-hearted or troubling, they certainly ignited debate, adding another layer of intrigue to one of Fox News’ most visible couples.
